Online training workshop for community radios in Chad, organised by CECOSDA with the support of UNESCO's International Program for the Development of Communication (IPDC).
1. Objective of the training workshop
According to the UNESCO Regional Director for Central
Africa, the objective of this training is to equip community journalists on the
use of digital technology to ensure continuity of service in times of security
crisis and COVID-19. How to use his smartphone to edit a short video, process
images, said the regional director.
2. Development of the activities
The training is organised by the Centre for
Communication and Sustainable Development (CECOSDA), with the support of
UNESCO's International Program for the Development of Communication (IPDC).
Officials from each country are invited to give their word online.
The community radios represented are :
- For Chad, FM Mandela, rodio oxygène, radio alquoran, radio arc-en-ciel
and FM liberté.
- For Cameroon, radio yemba, radio bonakanda, radio foutoui, radio
communautaire du Noun, chronique crtv, radio Aurore, radio vie et
développement
- For CAR, on RMCC, radio notre dame, radio lengo Songo, voix miracles,
Ravoci, Maria and radio Sewa
Cecosda took the opportunity to strengthen the
institutional capacities of the Green Alerte Network, the Chad
Community Radio Network, and the CAR Media House by offering each of the
institutions internet kits and 4G boxes as part of the organisation of the workshop.
The participants
thanked CECOSDA and the IPD/UNESCO for their support in order to realise this
event. They hope that this partnership will continue in order to support the
training of community journalists.
