Thirty community Radio journalist empowered with degital skills to continue broadcast in times of security and health crisis

From the 22nd to the 23rd of February 2022, thirty community Radio journalists from three countries in the central African sub region (Cameroon, Chad and Central African Republic) received training on mobile journalism. This was to enable them use their mobile phones to reach out to audience even in times of crisis.

They were however trained on video editing using the Capcut application, designing and sharing awareness information using the Canva application and reaching out to the widest audience in their communities through WhatsApp business

The organizers of the training workshop; The Center for Communication and sustainable Development for All ( CECOSDA ) in partnership with the UNESCO International Program for the Development of Communication ( IPDC ) had as main aim to enable community Radio journalists continue their work and create more impact in their various communities in times of crisis.

The work shop was very practical as the different facilitators took turns to thrill participants on practical work to enable better understanding. A Whatsapp group was created that linked participants in Central African Republic Chad and Cameroon. The workshop ended with an award of certificates to participants. At the end of the workshop, the participants appreciated the training workshop and wished they could have more of such trainings with CECOSDA and IPDC/UNESCO in the nearest future.
